Acai Fruit
The acia fruit is a small, round, deep
purple fruit similar to a grape. It is a type of berry that
grows on the acia tree which is a type of palm tree native to
South American, rainforest, countries such as Brazil. Acai
fruit is very tasty and there are many great recipes that use
it.

On the left hand side is the
picture of the acai berry fruit. The acia fruit
is about an inch in diameter which makes it
larger than blueberry but comparable size to
grape. Inside the acia fruit there is a large
seed that is about half an inch in
diameter.

Unlike grapes and many other fruits, the
acia fruit only has one large seed. The seed is hard and people
don't eat the seed of the acai fruit. Each branch of the acai
palm tree has almost a thousand acia fruit on them.
Eating acia fruit
In countries where the acai palm trees grow,
it is common to find acia fruit in the menu at restaurants. The
acia fruit berries are harvested as food and they make up a
large part of the food source of those countries.
When the acia fruit is young, it can look
green, although some fully ripe acia fruit are green. The color
of the acia berry depends on how ripe it is and the type of
acia berry it is.
In countries such as Brazil, acia fruit is
used in breakfast such as to make the famous Rio Bowl.
